TEMPE, Arizona—July 24, 2000--GenoTechs, Inc. today announced the release of AstroMark(TM), a new software product suite that enables application developers to build robust data-driven Web applications. AstroMark suite includes three major applications: AstroDesigner, for creating database Web pages; AstroServer, the application server Middleware or Web Server; and AstroMark, the database page browser. All popular database formats (ODBC and Encapsulated Servers) are supported. This addition to the Web tools market employs a radically different, non-HTML approach to solving the database to Web problem. “It effectively separates database data from HTML and provides a means for maintaining the visual context within the HTML page,” stated Gillis Onyeabor, GenoTechs’ President. “AstroMark is designed to become to databases what RealPlayer is to videos on the Internet. Its leading-edge approach solves the problem of browser incompatibility while establishing a symbiotic relationship between HTML and database data. Powerful, yet easy to use, a Web developer can create a database Web page in as few as six mouse clicks.” AstroMark’s unique state management and caching mechanisms can significantly reduce network traffic. Because all database data is cached on the client side, the user can scroll back and forth through data without revisiting the server or creating dynamic HTML pages. “I’m recommending AstroMark to my clients,” said Glen Johnson, Principal Architect for Netigy’s Global eInfrastructure Practice. “Development time is shortened dramatically because AstroMark does not require Java, JavaScript, Perl, CGI, or ActiveX components. It also eliminates the countless wasted hours that most Web developers spend on HTML browser incompatibility issues.” “We chose AstroMark as the Web interface to our human genome database because of its interface and ease of use,” said Sudhir Kumar, Biology Professor at Arizona State University. ”Since AstroMark’s front end looks just like any other Windows application, we can easily integrate it with our existing desktop application in a way that’s transparent to the user. It also helps me do complex tasks in an easy manner. Because AstroMark automatically maintains the users’ state indefinitely, they can start back at the same point as they left two days ago. I don’t have to do any coding to accomplish that.” Download AstroMark browser and an evaluation version of AstroDesigner from http://www.astromark.com/amdownload.html.
GTSize32 v 5 Now Shipping October 1999 Upgraded for compatibility
with Delphi version 5, GTSize32 v 5 is now shipping. The GTSizer
was first released in 1995 for use with Delphi. GTSizer is a native VCL
created for Delphi, enabling automatic resolution independence and proportionate
form sizing for Delphi applications. No coding is required. Design
your form at any resolution--large or small fonts--drop the
GTSizer on your form, and run it at any resolution; your form will still
look good. GTSizer's SameSize property allows you to keep forms the
same size at different resolutions and monitor sizes. Supports resizeable
native, third party, and custom components as well as dynamic (run-time)
control creation. Compiles into your exe with no runtime fees
or royalty. Fully functional IDE-limited trial versions available for download
(for selected versions).
AstroMark Internet Development Suite Announced August 1999 Announcing AstroMark, a new software product suite that enables application developers to build robust, true WYSIWYG database-driven Web applications. By extending Pascal, a powerful cross-platform and easy-to-learn language, AstroMark enables Internet application development with out the security pitfalls and steep learning curves inherent in Java, JavaScript, HTML, and ActiveX technologies. The AstroMark Suite includes an integrated visual development environment, a server that bidirectionally encrypts data, and a browser that runs standalone or in tandem with other popular Web browsers. Most popular database formats (ODBC and SQL-Servers) are supported. Embedded state management preserves bandwidth and optimizes server resources with no extra coding, no persistent connection, and no server agents.
